The success of Bistango’s debut En Plein Air Concert has led restaurant management to announce that the show will go on each Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. through September. The series will feature the talents of jazz singer Victoria McGinnis, a New York transplant who performs updated renditions of standards popularized by such legends as Frank Sinatra, Nancy Wilson and Ella Fitzgerald. Executive Chef Javier Montoya has even crafted a special al fresco menu with such items as grilled watermelon salad, Yellowfin tuna poke, crispy pork belly sandwich and marinated chicken and filet mignon beef tacos. Bistango’s full dinner menu also will be available.
“We were so encouraged by the enthusiasm guests showed for our debut En Plein Air Concert that we decided to make it a weekly event,” said Karyn Ghoukassian, who coordinates the outdoor activities. “Victoria is a gifted musician with an amazing voice who certainly will be a hit with our guests. And Chef Javier’s al fresco menu, of course, is sure to delight.”
Space is limited and guests will be admitted on a first come, first serve basis, though priority seating will be offered to those checking in via email@example.com.
Bistango enjoys an enduring and loyal following especially among OC’s business community. It even earned the Register’s best “power lunch destination” designation. Its diverse and eclectic menu of contemporary American cuisine crafted by Executive Chef Javier Montoya has proven popular among locals and critics, alike. In addition to its 400-bottle wine list, which has been heralded by Wine Spectator, Bistango offers an extensive list of classic and specialty cocktails and craft beers. Its outdoor patio, Bistango Gardens is distinguished by mature trees, plants and flowers that lend natural intimacy and an enormous circular fountain that serves as its centerpiece. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner weekdays and dinner-only Saturdays. Live entertainment can be enjoyed each evening in its lounge where couples often dance the night away.
