Event Description

Rance’s Chicago Pizza in Long Beach and Costa Mesa are launching “Help For Hurricane Harvey” victims on Labor Day, Monday, Sept 4 by setting up donation centers in each location and offering gift cards and/or free pizza as an incentive to donate. Anyone who brings in a bag of nonperishable food and/or clothes and blankets will receive a $10 gift card and anyone who donates $100 or more to the American Red Cross will receive a free large pizza. FEMA estimates that 30,000 people in the greater Houston are or will be displaced due to flooding with many of them forced to live in temporary housing set up by the American Red Cross and other organizations.
“In times of crisis it’s great when people show their true colors by gathering together in solidarity to help our fellow brothers and sisters in need,” said Rance’s co-founder and Executive Chef Rance Ruiz, who with his childhood friend, Aaron Tofani, run the critically acclaimed pizzerias.
Added Tofani, “We hope to raise thousands of dollars and believe that by offering our pizza as an incentive, we will reach our goal. We’ve been in touch with the Red Cross who say that while cash donations are their preferred way to help flood victims, they are also desperately in need blankets and clothing.”
A critic’s darling and winner of the “Best Pizza” honors at the Golden Foodie Awards, Rance’s Chicago Pizza distinguishes itself from the competition by using locally sourced ingredients for everything, including their dressings and sauces, made from scratch daily. Rance’s offers 3 versions of its pies: stuffed, pan and a thinner-crust “tavern” style. The wings are available in 3 proprietary flavors: Bourbon Maple Bacon, Spicy Thai Peanut and Buffalo styles accompanied by house-made ranch and blue cheese dipping sauce. Rance’s offers a variety of craft beers on tap and wines by the glass or bottle.
Rance’s Chicago Pizza is located in the Belmont Shore neighborhood of Long Beach at 5258 East Second Street and Costa Mesa at 1420 Baker Street. For more information, visit rancespizza.com or call (562) 786-5566 OR (714) 708-2143.
