Event Description

In an effort to spread the word that children in Southern California and beyond still go to bed hungry each night, Sir Bruno Serato will be featured at two important events in September. The Humanity Education Rights organization has invited the chef/restaurateur/humanitarian and founder of the nonprofit Caterina’s Club to serve as keynote speaker at its upcoming summit to be held at the Hyatt Regency at LAX on September 16 at 10 a.m. Thousands of attendees nationwide are expected at the event. Tickets are available at info@hersummit.com.
Also, the Diocese of Orange has announced that Serato will receive an award at its musical festival known as Christ Fest featuring top Christian bands to be held the evening of Friday, September 8. That event alone is expected to draw a crowd of more than 10,000 before whom Serato will deliver his message. Tickets may be purchased online by visiting christfestoc.frontgatetickets.com.
“I am grateful to these two organizations for allowing me to share my message about what each of us can do to help our fellow man,” said Serato.
Serato established Caterina's Club, which is named for his beloved mother, that feeds some 3,050 children daily and well over 1.5 million meals have been served as the need keeps growing. His influence has extended far beyond Southern California to include Chicago, New York, Texas, Mexico and Italy. Not content to merely feed these families, Serato has extended his mission by moving many of the “motel families” into permanent housing and launching the Hospitality Program, which seeks to divert at-risk high school students by introducing them to opportunities in the food, hospitality and service industries.
For his humanitarian work, Serato has earned international publicity including profiles in People Magazine, “CBS Evening News” and newspapers and magazines the world over. Among his many honors is being named a CNN Hero, being knighted by the Italian government, receiving a papal blessing from Pope Francis, getting a humanitarian award on the steps of the U.S. Capitol, and receiving numerous proclamations, Man of the Year awards and other forms of recognition -- all of which he accepts to generate public awareness of the needs of our most vulnerable population – our children.
