I was excited to try a sampler lunch at the Signature Kitchen in Macy's Home Store at South Coast Plaza.  I was warned that it was a "taste" of their angus burger... but coupled with seasoned fries, Ceasar salad, a red velvet cupcake, scoop of ice cream, And a beverage... for just $10? I just had to try it. When it arrived, I laughed!  The burger was about the size of an old dollar coin.  The fries were in a Dixie-sized cup (smaller portion than a small fry at McD's), the cupcake looked like some spilled batter with a dollop of icing on top, and the "scoop" of ice cream was about a rounded teaspoon!  Taste indeed!  I was reminded of the scene in "O Brother Where Art Thou?" where George Clooney is offered a roasted gopher on a spit.  He replied, "No thanks, I'm afraid a third of a gopher would only whet my appetite without bedding her down."  I left hungry.  In fact, it did, indeed, whet my appetite for more.  I decided to head up to The Habit in Orange, where, (for another $10), I got their full-sized cheeseburger, delicious onion rings, and a wonderful vanilla malt!

 As Restaurant week comes to a close, I look forward to dinner with friends at another establishment (I haven't made reservations yet, so I don't want to disclose which one).  I didn't see any mention of the word "taste" and hope my appetite is, indeed, "bedded down."
