Signed the petition last week, now joining this group. Yay, Jamie. My own kid won't even eat school lunches, while my husband remembers hot lunches at school being pretty good. When did it all change? That's what I want to know.

I grew up in Asia - my lunch was rice + whatever entree we had the night before. It was always hot and nutritious. We used those insulated lunch boxes to keep food hot.

So...how do we change things? By working together. By starting in our local communities... by educating our children and the community. Thoughts anyone?

I'm trying to do my part for my community - I will be starting a weekly cooking class starting next week and have made the classes completly kid friendly. I encourage kids of all ages to attend so that they learn to cook at an early age and can then avoid the fast food temptations!!
