Books!
I have been on a Middle Eastern/ Subcontinent kick lately and have picked up quite a few new books on the subject to help familiarize myself with the food. Out of all of them, "The New Book of Middle Eastern Food" and "Arabesque" have become my fast favorites. The dishes are explained very well, techniques described in detail, definitely some good ones for anyone interested in the subject. What else have you all run across out there, particularly good or bad?

I've been really into vegetarian cooking lately. I found a Chinese Vegetarian cook book that has been awesome, you never miss the meat because it is so flavorful. Next on the list is Mexican Vegetarian cuisine. I have fun improvising ingredients with veg friendly foods.

Very nice! I have found a couple that I have enjoyed to be The Modern Vegetarian Kitchen and The Candle Cafe Cookbook. If the mood strikes for some interesting Japanese vegetarian, I would strongly suggest Good Food from a Japanese Temple by Soei Yoneda. Some of the ingredients may be more difficult to find, but the dishes that you can put together with it when you can find them, are fantastic. -
