Not sure if you are still looking for a chef to do a private class for 10-12 but I am a local private chef who specializes in teaching in home classes. You can visit my website at www.artofcuisine.com. Send me a note and let me know if you are interested. The classes are tailored to your taste so your group can choose the menu themselves. Thanks, Louise

Any students willing to do a demo of perhaps an appetizer;, salad or side dish for a gourmet group of 20-22 people. Group will pay for food items.

If it's not too late, Michelle, you can also try Sur La Table in Newport Beach. They will rent out their kitchen for private parties, and they will also provide instructors if you wish. You can even pick one of their existing classes and buy it out for your party, or pick one of the classes and have your private party on the available date of your choice. Their number is 949-640-0200

The problem I am running into is that alot of places cap their students at a lower number. I'll take a look and see what I can run across for ya. Have you looked into Laguna Culinary Arts? Im not sure if they do private classes anymore but it is another option.

I saw Melange. They are a bit pricey with a $1500 minimum even if you don't have 12 people. Have you or anyone you know tried them? Are they worth it?

Hmm for 12 people.... Try Melange. They are here in Newport, and I know they do the cooking party thing.

I want to have a surprise birthday cooking party for a group of 12 people. I would need a facility and want it fun and informative. What are your ideas?
Kevin Comment by Kevin on December 2, 2008 at 12:14am
Hello Michelle, I may have a couple ideas for you but I need to know a bit more about what you are planning. Are you looking for instruction as well, or just a facility? Let me know as much as you can about what you need and I may be able to point you in a couple different directions.

I'm looking to have a private cooking party. Any one know a good place to have it?

Cha Cha’s Brings New Life to Old Mexico

When you hear the phrase “Mexican restaurant,” what initially comes to mind? Chances are, your bean is instantly populated with thoughts of buildings laid heavy with faux crumbling adobe, archways, and other amenities designed to mimic something from days of yore (or in Orange County’s case, days of Yorba).…

Haven Gastropub by Rich Manning

Last week, a friend and I were having a discussion about experiencing great food while we happily consumed fish tacos. After sharing a tale with me about how this particular chocolatier in New York City has permanently cast other chocolates in a lesser light, he confessed that his love for this cocoa-infused art led him to realize that he would gladly experience the best type of food the world has to offer, then spend the rest of his days in anger over the fact that the globe cannot offer anythi…
