Taco Surf is Up. I agree. Chronic is Up. So is Catalina Fish Kitchen on Tuesdays. Get it Matty's style (not sure if she even works there anymore. .) and Garlic Butter. Yum. They might even have the best tartar sauce recipe. Think: Grilled Fish Chunks, Fresh Dill Pickle Bits and Onion in Mayo melting over it in a flash grilled tortilla, along w/ some house made salsa draping the top. Who Dat? Catalina Fish Kitchen on Tuesday. Unbelievable deal on Tues for less than a buck "fitty" per taco.

Taco Surf on PCH in Dana Point has really good chicken tacos. It seems like most places overcook their chicken, but this was moist and juicy. The best way i can think to describe the texture of the meat is that it's almost Asian-feeling...I know that sounds weird, but imagine the juiciness of chicken from pickup stix or panda express, just without the sauce...

Chronic has a dozen OC locations http://www.eatchronictacos.com/
They opened a store in Redondo a few months ago called Wee Man's Chronic Tacos....Wee Man from Jackass tv/movies
Cheers

Paul, they still have a Chronic Unit in Jack-in-the-Box Strip Mall on PCH and Superior. Same Fatty Taco goodness, sans ambience, plus tats and "do's."

Definitely going to check out House of Big Fish, and one of these days I'll be in the right place at the right time to indulge in a Kogi masterpiece. (Unfortunately, I have high expectations.) Cheers, and have a great weekend!

You guys MUST try the tacos from Cha Cha's in Brea. Probably one of the best tacos I've had. Go for the Carnitas tacos (juicy & topped with pineapple relish) and the Carne Asada.

When you hear the phrase “Mexican restaurant,” what initially comes to mind? Chances are, your bean is instantly populated with thoughts of buildings laid heavy with faux crumbling adobe, archways, and other amenities designed to mimic something from days of yore (or in Orange County’s case, days of Yorba).…
