Citrus Announces A Second Year Of The Liquid Arts Series

The Liquid Arts Series continues for the second year at Citrus at Fairmont Newport Beach. On the second Wednesday of every month, discover the diverse world of wine and spirits with industry professionals including award-winning sommeliers, mixologists and chefs as you learn the history of iconic brands, respected regions and the art of pairing. Whether it is sampling different wines or participating in our “Chopped” style bartender competition, each seminar in the series is sure to please. The series is held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at Citrus. For Reservations, please email newportbeach@fairmont.com. The cost is $20 per session, payable at the door. Valet parking is included in the cost.

The schedule of events is as follows:

January: Drink Organic
Kick off the New Year looking at the healthiest wines possible. Discover new favorites at a tasting of Sustainable, Organic, Biodynamic and Vegan wines.

February: Drink Bubbles
Valentine’s Day reminds us that sparkling wines are the most romantic wines. Learn more by tasting classic sparklers.

March: Drink Irish Whiskey
We use St. Patrick’s Day to focus on Irish Whiskey. A devious Chopped-style bartender competition lets guests compete for top honors.

April: Drink Rosé
We would be foolish not to try our favorite grapes in all their beautiful variations. Too many times, wine lovers skip the rosé version of their favorite grapes simply because of the pink color. Try some new favorites.

May: Drink Tequila
What could be more fun than drinking tequila on Cinco de Mayo? Discover the styles, terms and histories of this incredible spirit from just across the border.

June: Drink French
Yes, we liberated France in WWII, but they saved us with wine! Come taste some French classics you need to know about.

July: Drink Bourbon
Besides apple pie and baseball, there is nothing more American than Bourbon! A devious Chopped-style bartender competition lets guests compete for top honors.

August: Drink Sake
Japan has a history of sake production going back 2000 years. You owe it to yourself to experience the difference between average, good and great sake.

September: Drink Malbec
Summer may draw to a close, but our grills are still burning! We all love to grill and there is nothing better with grilled meat than Malbec. Discover Argentine Malbec plus a few other jewels.

October: Drink Craft Beer:
This time of year always reminds us of our proud beer drinking traditions. We are lucky that Southern California offers several fantastic craft breweries right in our back yard. Explore our local treasures.

November: Drink Thanksgiving Wine
It’s that time again… our tables are full of amazing things, but what should we drink with all of it? Try some classics and discover some new wines that will hopefully be a part of your Thanksgiving dinner for years to come. Drink Thanksgiving Wine.

Located on the Lobby Level of Fairmont Newport Beach, Citrus is open for breakfast and lunch Monday - Friday and breakfast Saturday - Sunday. Private event space is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
