Ah, October. The leaves turn colorful and crunchy, pristine backyards transform into sinister parcels of Halloween doom, and warmer clothing emerges from the backs of closets. In Orange County, it also means the start of another glorious season of Anaheim Ducks hockey, as the team kicks off yet another campaign this week. This year, things look promising for the squad -- they are led by the lethal trio of Bobby Ryan, Ryan Getzlaf, and reigning league MVP Corey Perry, team legend Teemu Selanne is coming back for another year, and they have a legitimate shot of taking the Pacific Division title.
For the puck-loving foodie, the season also marks the perfect opportunity to dive right into The Honda Center's renovated food program. Beginning with the team's first home game (October 14th versus the rival San Jose Sharks), guests will be able to indulge in a host of new culinary items that will alter the perception that people may have about arena food. Barbeque aficionados can flock to the Outlaws Smokehouse for the chance to sink their teeth into items like smoked brisket sandwiches and kielbasa. Sliced Gourmet Deli will serve patrons fresh, made-to-order salads and sandwiches. And guests who have a craving for a tasty hamburger will enjoy the arena's Burger Bistro, whose selection of stuffed-bun delights range from spicy chile to pineapple teriyaki. These options join such popular culinary choices like Bluewater Grill, Oggi's Pizza, Urban Wok, and OC Grill (home of one of the county's most obsession-worthy cheesesteaks) to ensure fans will only leave hungry for another Stanley Cup title.
