It's no secret that the mighty food truck wields a tremendous source of power and influence. They have their own televised cross-country race on The Food Network. They have thousands of patrons tracing their every move through mobile apps and social media feeds. They could turn a stark, empty lot in the middle of an industrial area into the hottest destination in Orange County in a matter of moments. Their impact on food and society seemingly cannot be underestimated. So much so, that it only seems natural that the concept be used as the focal point of a most worthy cause.
On August 18th and 19th, the power of the food truck will indeed be unleashed for purposes of good. Ten of OC's most popular mobile kitchens will be coming together to raise money for the Orange County/Inland Empire chapter of the Make-a-Wish Foundation, as part of the organization's Got Foodtrucks Angels on Wheels Project. Favorites like Slap Fish, Louks to Go, and Great Food Truck Race participant The Lime Truck will be on hand in Los Alamitos on the 18th and in Fullerton on the 19th to sell various tasty treats, with the most noble goal of bringing joy into the lives of children facing life-threatening illnesses.
