Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort celebrated the end of 2018 with the spirit of giving by contributing $32,000 to local charities and non-profit organizations in Orange County. Newport Dunes values the work of its many charitable partner organizations including Pacific Marine Mammal Center which provides for the rescue, rehab, release and research of marine mammals in local waters, Newport Bay Conservancy which focuses on the conservation and restoration of Upper Newport Bay, and Wetlands & Wildlife Care Center of Orange County, which is dedicated to the rehabilitation and release of injured and orphaned native wildlife.
A favorite destination for members of the community from all walks of life, Newport Dunes is honored to partner with and support multiple causes that benefit those who are less fortunate. These organizations include Project Hope Alliance which provides care for children experiencing homelessness in Orange County, Laura's House to sponsor Orange County families affected by domestic violence, CHOC Children's - Orange County's Children's Hospital, and StandUp for the Cure to raise money for early breast cancer detection, treatment, and education through the fundraising event held annually at Newport Dunes.
For many years, Newport Dunes has hosted an auditory Easter egg hunt for the students of Blind Children's Learning Center and is honored to help them continue to prepare children with visual impairments for a life of independence through early intervention, education and family support. “It’s an incredible feeling to be able to partner with so many meaningful and diverse, local causes throughout the year,” said Michael Gelfand, President of Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort. “To have the opportunity to give back to those organizations and to help them continue to better our community is the greatest gift.” For more information on events and amenities at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort visit www.NewportDunes.com.
