Award-winning SeaLegs Wine Bar is celebrating winter with its new seasonal California shared plates, greens, entrees and desserts. The menu boasts fresh, local and sustainable items selected to satisfy downtown Huntington Beach locals and Southern Californians alike looking to unwind after work, guests gathering for family-style seating or revelers celebrating the holiday season.
Award-winning culinary entrepreneur Alicia Whitney and Executive Chef Ken McCaskill collaborated to infuse SeaLegs’ offerings with the sweet-and-savory flavors of the season, with a Southern California twist reflecting the casual warmth of the beach side city.
“Although our guests are craving richer taste sensations now, they also want the creativity of sampling our diversity of eats, drinks and desserts,” Whitney said. “Our team has worked hard on this menu, and we consider it among our most accessible, tantalizing and inspired.”
Serious Winter Eats to Savor
New to the menu, seafood fans can savor the Pier 39 Seafood Cioppino with tiger shrimp, manila clams, bay scallops and New Zealand green-lipped mussels, or Grilled Mahi Mahi with blue crab fried rice. Diners in the mood for heartier fare can enjoy Steak Frites with savory Napa Cabernet and mushroom pepper sauce, Short Rib Pot Pie, or Balsamic Hangar Steak. Most main entrées range between $18 and $38.
Since opening in 2012, SeaLegs’ offerings called “snacks” and “shares” have served as its signature dishes, such as its stinky fries – three cheese garlic fondue topped with shaved parmesan and truffle oil. Smaller than an entrée yet amply filling, these offerings also have gained a seasonal update. Prices for most snacks and shares range from $8 to $16.
Whitney expects the Napa Cabernet Burger topped with goat cheese, caramelized Cabernet Sauvignon onions roasted tomato steaks, crispy bacon, and roasted garlic vinaigrette to be a popular choice, along with the Lobster & Millionaire’s Mac and Cheese mac and cheese. This quintessential comfort food is made with a creamy, rich three-cheese béchamel and Spirelli noodles.
Located in southeast Huntington Beach near the water, SeaLegs Wine Bar offers an inviting experience for guests to enjoy a selection of limited production wines, hand-selected craft beers, craft cocktails and a seasonal California shared-plates menu that is tempting to the palate. The Hamptons-inspired décor with a stunning glass-encased 2,000-bottle wine cellar as a backdrop creates an immediate warmth and sophistication balanced by its relaxed local clientele. SeaLegs Wine Bar opened its second location in June 2015 at the Los Angeles International Airport Terminal 2. For more information, visit sealegswinebar.com.
