Do you love to dine out but wish you could re-create some of those dishes at home? Now you can! Surfas Culinary District will host five FREE cooking demonstrations open to the public during the month of March. Guests will be introduced to new techniques, flavors, recipes and ingredients for making dishes using Indian spices, scones, kimchi, healthy Mexican dishes and Sicilian family favorites. Demonstrations will be hosted Saturdays from 11am-1pm including guest chef appearances by Chef Ed Babic, Chef Linda Bilo-Brechtel, Chef Lauryn Chun, Chef Aarti Radia and Chef Cheri Liefeld.

Join Aarti Radia, home chef and instructor at Laguna Culinary Arts, as she simplifies the famous Mulligatawny Soup and Tomato Chutney using a few basic Indian spices easy enough to prepare at home. Chef Aarti specializes in simplifying the authentic recipes learnt from her mother and grandmother and share the healing wisdom of the spices and ingredients. “Healthy Mexican” with Chef Cheri Liefeld

Join Chef Cheri Liefeld as she makes healthy and delicious Mexican favorites. A native of Southern California, Chef Cheri’s cooking is filled with fresh ingredients from local farmers markets and often served spicy. Chef Cheri believes that food tastes better when shared with family and friends. So come share with us a sampling of Mango Brie Quesadillas, Winter Fiesta Salad with Lime Cilantro Yogurt Dressing and Baja Fish Tacos with Pico de Gallo.
Demonstrations take place every Saturday from 11 am – 1pm in the Test Kitchen at Surfas Culinary District at 3309 Hyland Avenue, Costa Mesa, CA 92626. They provide great opportunities for attendees to get to know local chefs personally and learn about their unique techniques and favorite products. Samples are served at each demonstration and questions for the chefs and are highly encouraged. Seating is limited so early arrival is recommended.
