True farm to table, organic, chef-driven cuisine is tough to find in Orange County, California…unless you find yourself at True Seasons Organic Kitchen in Anaheim who are celebrating their first anniversary. To commemorate their first year in business True Seasons Organic Kitchen is going to donate a percentage of their proceeds to The Pantry during the month of September. Owned and helmed by Chef Saifon Plewtong, everything on the menu is fresh and hand-selected from local markets daily. The restaurant celebrates its first anniversary this month, and Chef Saifon is excited to continue her commitment to using only organic, GMO-free ingredients in her hot pot-centered concept, while also expanding the menu to include fresh-pressed juices and desserts.
“I am so thankful to have been embraced by Orange County diners and to be celebrating the first anniversary of True Seasons Organic Kitchen,” says Chef Saifon, Chef and Owner of the restaurant. “My passion for cooking started with the seed. True Seasons grew out of this idea of “seed-to-plate” dining using organic and locally sourced ingredients so that all of our guests can enjoy fresh, natural flavors and feel great about the food they are eating.”
In addition to hot pot, Chef Saifon has expanded True Seasons’ menu to include a variety of organic wraps, salad and rice bowls, handmade fruit popsicles, and organic, fresh-pressed juice which incorporates sugar cane for a wealth of health benefits. These new items join a curated lineup of seasonal hot pot offerings for lunch and dinner, with produce changing weekly, based on what is readily available at local farmers’ markets or from local organic growers. In addition, True Seasons’ meat and seafood is sustainably and humanely-raised and free of hormones and antibiotics, while the restaurant’s pomegranate and sesame sauces are made in-house daily with premium, locally sourced ingredients.
“I work with a number of local farmers in Orange County,” says Chef Saifon. “After a year of working with them, they always save great produce for me that they know I will need at the restaurant. Sugar cane is not easy to find, and since I added it on the menu, one of my farmers holds it for me in large quantities. I am so grateful to them, and to my guests at True Seasons Organic Kitchen – I could not be celebrating a year without them.” True Seasons Organic Kitchen regularly sources fresh produce from Sea Winds Farm in Fountain Valley and Jason Farms in Camarillo, among others.
Chef Saifon’s commitment to healthy eating and her community extends beyond True Seasons Organic Kitchen, thanks to The Free Pantry, a Costa Mesa-based nonprofit she founded 10 years ago. The endeavor began as a simple weekly food drop off to a local shelter, but soon evolved into a program that provides food, groceries, and other assistance to low-income, elderly and homeless families and individuals in Orange County. For their one year anniversary celebrations, True Seasons Organic Kitchen will donate a portion of the proceeds earned in September to The Pantry.
