WINESTYLES SUPPORTS NATIONAL ‘OPEN THAT BOTTLE NIGHT’ ON FEBRUARY 27, 2010

WineStyles at Orchard Hills Village Center in Irvine is participating in the 11th annual “Open That Bottle Night” (OTBN) this Saturday, February 27. OTBN, the brainchild of The Wall Street Journal’s wine columnists Dorothy J. Gaiter and John Brecher, was created to give wine lovers a perfect occasion to open a bottle of wine when no other occasion seemed appropriate enough.

From 6 to 10 p.m. this Saturday, WineStyles will host wine tastings and hors d'oeuvres to customers in celebration of OTBN. Additionally, customers are encouraged to come in and taste wines from WineStyles in the store or bring a special bottle to share. The evening will also feature live music with everyone’s favorite, Jerry McFarland, who formerly played with the Righteous Brothers.

“WineStyles is the ideal place to celebrate OTBN because we encourage customers to buy what they like based on taste, not price, age or region,” said Christine DuVall, Irvine WineStyles owner. “We agree with The Wall Street Journal that OTBN is not a contest to see who has the oldest bottle, but an evening where wines are discovered, stories are told and the company of friends is enjoyed.”

Designed to transport customers into an old-world wine cellar, WineStyles is a unique concept that allows guests to choose wines based on their individual style preferences such as crisp, silky, rich and bubbly or fruity, mellow, bold and nectar. The store features a rotating selection of over 170 world-class wines from unique labels, and hard-to-find wines from small and large vineyards around the world. Furthermore, most of the wines are priced between $10 - $25 per bottle.

In addition to incredible boutique wines, WineStyles also hosts weekly wine tastings and private event opportunities. The store has a 100 percent satisfaction wine guarantee offering customers a full credit on their next purchase if they are not completely satisfied with their wine selection.

Now in its 11th year, OTBN is celebrated around the country at restaurants, clubs, dinner parties and charity fundraisers, among other venues.

“With the growth of wine in the United States, OTBN presents wine lovers and novices alike the opportunity to learn more and enjoy a great bottle of wine,” said DuVall. “Through OTBN, we hope to educate everyone that wine is something to be shared and enjoyed with friends and family.”

WineStyles is located in Orchard Hills Village Center at 3975 Portola Parkway, at Culver Drive, in Irvine. For more information, please call (714) 368-0001.
