Celebrate National Tequila Day on July 24th with Camarena Tequila Cocktails

There’s nothing like a midweek excuse to celebrate! On Wednesday, July 24, prime your palates for National Tequila Day.

While spirits aficionados have long appreciated the depth and dynamicism of tequila, cocktail drinkers have traditionally associated tequila with either the margarita or something you shoot at the bar with salt and a lime. For years, tequila has ceded the spotlight to more “familiar” spirits like vodka and whiskey. However, Mexico’s modern day 100% agave spirit is proving that tequila is much more than a one-trick pony.

What many are surprised to discover is that tequila lends itself to many unique and sometimes surprising cocktail ingredients. Silver tequila (unaged) tends to exhibit the true flavors of the spirit (think pure sweet agave and fresh earth notes) and combines beautifully with ingredients such as fresh fruits, juices and liqueurs. Not to be outdone, the rich, spicy notes of reposado tequila (oak-aged) intermingle effortlessly with spices, herbs and even wine! The possibilities are endless, and one need not travel or spend a fortune to taste the satisfaction of a well-made tequila cocktail.

This National Tequila Day, the Camarena family invites you and your readers to discover the smooth drinkability and easy mixability of Familia Camarena Tequila, a 100% agave tequila that is paving the way for 100% agave tequila growth and education. Six generations in the making, Familia Camarena Tequila is the culmination of a family’s century-long journey dedicated to the craft of producing exceptional tequila in the way it was intended to be: 100% agave. Crafted in the Los Altos Highlands of Mexico, stock up on Camarena Silver and Reposado Tequilas, available at your local retailer and mix up some of these easy at-home tequila cocktails for toasting the day.
