With the arrival of Summer, SOL Cocina welcomes the return of “Dock & Dine Season” in Newport Beach! While SOL Catering is offered year-round, the spring and summer months focus on delivering Mexican menus to guests docked at their Balboa Marina location. “Dock & Dine,” full-service dockside catering, was created by Executive Chef Deborah Schneider, to extend the SOL experience to those wanting to take advantage of the natural beauty that lies in SOL’s backyard.
“SOL’s location at the Balboa Marina is prime docking for those looking for the perfect ambiance to enjoy a sunny afternoon or a scenic nightscape,” said Matt Baumayr, Managing Partner of SOL Cocina. “We offer our dockside catering throughout the year, but with the Marina in full swing during the spring and summer, it only seemed natural to want ‘kick off’ the “Dock & Dine” season and really highlight our catering capabilities, which include beer, wine and SOL’s fresh margarita kit, created to tranform a novice bartender into a SOL-worthy mixologist!”
An extension of SOL Catering, “Dock & Dine” stays true to the restaurant’s dining room experience, by offering five different tasting menu packages featuring SOL’s eclectic twist on traditional Baja Cuisine. The menus come with SOL’s signature salsas, guacamole and Borracho black beans with cotixa cheese, served with crispy tostadas and warm corn tortillas. In addition to the set menus, guests may add on a number of a la carte options from the regular menu.
