Fry’s are donating 5,000 of their plant-based burgers to Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, which distributes donated, purchased and prepared foods through a network of more than 300 community and partner programs throughout Orange County.
“When we saw that 112,000 children in Orange County may go hungry every month and that 22% of seniors are also at risk of going hungry, we knew we had to do something. Through their Kids Café, School Pantry and Senior Grocery programs, Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County is committed to providing meals to those in need in the Southland and we’re honored to be a part of that effort,” states Fry’s International Marketing Director, Tammy Fry, whose father founded the company nearly three decades ago.
Throughout their nearly 30 year history of providing healthy and delicious plant-based foods to the world, Fry’s have saved millions of animals by encouraging consumers to switch to a plant-based diet and have now turned their attention to helping in a small way to address the social crises of hunger and homelessness in Southern California. The company is also encouraging other businesses in the area to open their hearts and their wallets to help people in need in their own backyard.
