NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., – In recognition of World Autism Awareness Month, Great Maple is partnering with the nonprofit Autism Speaks, creating an April doughnut special for restaurant goers to partake in. The special will feature a blue coconut milk glazed doughnut, topped with shredded coconut and edible blue glitter. Those dining can give back by purchasing the doughnut, as a portion of the proceeds raised will be donated to the nonprofit.
Amanda David, Great Maple’s COO said, “We look to spread joy through our food and there’s nothing better than doughnuts and giving back. We’re thrilled to be a part of the Light It Up Blue campaign and look forward to giving people an opportunity to donate in a special way.”
The inspiration for the doughnut was derived from the blue color associated with Autism Speaks, as the blue color symbolizes the feeling of calm and acceptance throughout the Autism community. The doughnut can be purchased at Great Maple restaurants located in Newport Beach, Pasadena, and La Jolla starting April 1st through April 30th.
