The enchantment of Merry Olde England will be on display at Hilton Anaheim when the hotel’s truly unique British-themed Mother’s Day Champagne Brunch returns Sunday, May 12.
Back again this year by popular demand, the brunch will be served in the hotel’s Mix Restaurant and Lounge from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and promises to be as entertaining as it is scrumptious.
The majestic experience will begin when mothers arriving at the hotel are escorted down a red carpet by royal palace guards through the redesigned main lobby entrance adjacent to the lushly landscaped outdoor Grand Plaza with its sparkling fountains and river of lights.
During this magnificent procession, each royal guest will receive a long-stemmed rose as a token of love and appreciation. The centerpiece of this majestic event is a custom-built royal throne fit for a queen that will be in place in the lobby, where it will serve as a regal stage for moms and their families to enjoy a one-of-a-kind photo opportunity. Once seated on her throne, each mom will be asked to don a bejeweled crown and hold a scepter to complete the sovereign setting.
In keeping with the royal theme, the exquisite brunch will feature traditional items like honey baked ham with crusty brown sugar glaze, as well as some of the Queen’s favorites, including quiche and scones. There will also be a children’s menu.
Prizes will be awarded for the best Fascinators (hats) worn by the moms between noon and 3 p.m. Three drawings will be held for complimentary stays at La Quinta Resort & Club in Palm Springs, the Arizona Biltmore, and Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel.
Facebook users are invited to participate in an online promotion entitled “Queen for a Day” that asks them to write in 1,000 characters or less why their mom or wife deserves to be treated like a queen. First prize is a weekend getaway for Mother’s Day at the hotel that includes a spa treatment for her and bunch for the immediate family. The winner will be selected by Hilton Anaheim and announced on Friday May 3. All entrants will receive a coupon for Mix.

After brunch, guests will be invited to enjoy a complimentary ride in an authentic horse-drawn carriage where they can enjoy the romantic sound of clip-clopping hooves on the pavement as the carriage glides along Convention Way not far from Orange County’s beloved Sleeping Beauty Castle at the Disneyland Resort.
The British-themed Mother’s Day brunch is the brainchild of the hotel’s General Manager, Shaun Robinson, who hails from Liverpool in the U.K. “We look forward to honoring all of the mothers who will be our special guests and know they will have an experience they will long remember,” said Robinson.
Mother’s Day was first celebrated in Great Britain in the 17th century as Mothering Sunday, much before the custom began in the U.S. Today, Mother’s Day is celebrated there as it is here with children paying tribute to their mothers and grandmothers, thanking them for all their love and support.
