The waiting will soon be over for fans of savory steaks, sumptuous seafood, tasty salads and much more who have been eagerly watching for the opening of Oceanside’s newest waterfront restaurant.
The Oceanside Broiler is set to open in the latter part of April at 1325 Harbor Drive North, in the former location occupied by Monterey Bay Canners. Brothers Doug and David Salisbury, who started the Monterey Bay Canners restaurant chain in 1983, own the new venture. The pair has invested more than $1,000,000 in the purchase and remodel of the 7,500 -square-foot facility that will accommodate 275 guests inside and on a patio and a covered lanai to be approved in June.
The brothers currently operate the Harborside Restaurant and Grand Ballroom, an iconic waterfront restaurant located inside the historic Balboa Pavilion, and the Newport Landing, both located in Newport Beach, California.
The Oceanside Broiler will be open daily, with lunch served Monday through Saturday from 11:30AM until 4PM, and brunch from 10AM until 2PM on Sundays. Dinner will be served nightly with hours from 5PM until 9:30PM. The lounge and lanai will be open from 11AM until 11PM on most days and live entertainment will be scheduled on the lanai on Saturday and Sunday afternoon in the summer.
“We will feature fresh seafood, steaks and be introducing sushi, too,” says David. “We will be serving house-made pastries, fresh and sustainable seafood, craft beers on tap, and organic and locally grown products. We will offer the longest happy hour in town, running from 11AM until 6PM every day, plus outside dining and banquet facilities with lots of knowledgeable staff ready to serve our guests.”
