Craft beers and independent breweries are all the rage right now and with good reason. Craft beers offer a range of quality, diversity and passion that can easily get lost in large brewery production. TAPS Fish House & Brewery in Downtown Brea recognizes the allure of a good craft beer and will present their First Annual Craft Brew Festival with an impressive roster of over 25* of Southern California’s premier breweries and brewers participating. The event will take place Saturday, April 27 from noon – 3 PM on TAPS patio and bar. To complement the wide range of beers, six stations with street food tastes from Italy, Mexico, the Middle East, Japan, Thailand, Cuba and urban American offerings inspired by Chicago, New Orleans, Chinatown, Honolulu, Milwaukee and LA will be served.
“We’ve done a couple of the Brew Fests at our TAPS location in Corona and the events were incredible,” stated TAPS Founder and Proprietor Joe Manzella. “It was time to bring the concept to Brea where this incredible journey began. And the line-up of breweries Victor Novak has arranged is first rate.” Headliners include The Bruery, Eagle Rock Brewing Co, Golden Road, Pizza Port San Clemente and Craftsman Brewing. Festival hosts Brewmaster Victor Novak and the Brew Crew will pour TAPS Belgian Tripel, Biere de Garde, Freyr, Hillbilly, Imperial Russian Stout, IPA and Oscura.
Culinary Director Tom Hope and Executive Chef Manny Gonzalez's “street food” menu for the afternoon is a global interpretation of the best tastes paired with beer. Crunchy lobster dumplings, Spam musubi and Kalua pork, crispy rice fried calamari, salami & capicola stromboli, shawarma with tabbouleh and hummus and classics like bratwurst with beer-marinated sauerkraut and Chi Dogs with sports peppers are among the tasty offerings.
