The Patio Marketplace Redefines Workplace Dining In Irvine

The Patio Group will redefine dining in the workplace with The Patio Marketplace at two corporate settings in Irvine. Scheduled to open Monday, March 18th, The Patio Marketplace at 400 Spectrum will feature a versatile dining space and exhibition kitchen within a new 21-story tower in the heart of Irvine Spectrum. Following that, The Patio Marketplace at Intersect will bring a full-service restaurant with an outdoor two-story shipping container concept to Intersect, a four-building, 436,000-square-foot office campus situated in the heart of Irvine’s Airport Area.

“We are excited to lead the charge on the future of workplace dining in Orange County by aligning ourselves with the most reputable partners in the community. Industry leader Irvine Company has its finger on the pulse of Orange County and Hines is a firm that aligns perfectly with our ethos,” said Brian LaGrange, Executive Vice President of American National Investments. “Creating unique experiences is the hallmark of our brand and The Patio Group is thrilled to have the opportunity to bring inspired, chef-driven cuisine into state-of-the-art office settings. We look forward to joining the Orange County community and serving it well.”

The innovative shipping containers will serve both the campus and the surrounding community with craft coffee, fresh juices and chef-driven grab-n-go fare throughout the day, as well as craft beer, wine and appetizers in the evening. The outdoor courtyard, designed as an engaging space for guests to gather and celebrate the best of coastal California, will be available for special events.

The Patio Marketplace at Intersect will enhance the next-generation office environment that promotes a balance of work and wellness. The office campus also includes outdoor amenity spaces equipped with Wi-Fi, TVs, a putting green, basketball court, state-of-the-art fitness and conference facilities, modern lobbies, lush gardens and common areas, and a fleet of Zagster rental bikes.

The restaurant is a partnership with the Irvine Company, which is evolving the traditional office into vibrant workplace communities. In conjunction with Irvine Company’s focus on encouraging collaboration and creativity to elevate business success, The Patio Marketplace at 400 Spectrum will be the first Patio Group restaurant to feature an exhibition kitchen to provide diners a more personal and interactive experience.

The new tower is located in the center of one of California’s most successful live-work-play communities, adjacent to a variety of housing choices and Irvine Spectrum Center, which offers 1.2 million square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment options to seamlessly integrate work and life.

The Patio Marketplace at 400 Spectrum opens to the public on Monday, March 18th. Hours of operation will be 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday; 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday; and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Happy Hour Wednesday through Friday. Saturday and Sunday will be reserved for special events.

Led by Chef Amol Thanky, The Patio Marketplace menus are influenced by the spirit of classic European cafes, as well as contemporary Coastal California cuisine. The restaurants will focus on dishes featuring sustainable, seasonal, and quality ingredients, as well as carefully sourced local fresh-baked artisan breads and an extensive selection of pastries.

Chef Thanky’s extensive experience, which includes serving as Lead Cook at Michelin-starred Restaurant Gary Danko in San Francisco, will enable him to cater to sophisticated Orange County diners. He will offer a dynamic menu at both locations, with dishes that evolve with the seasons and the tastes of local foodies.

The Patio Marketplace at 400 Spectrum will feature an exhibition kitchen where diners will witness made-to order savory and sweet crepes, paninis, guacamole and crispy calamari, among other items. The restaurant will focus on an a la carte menu to best serve its diner.

Chef Thanky will offer a full service dining menu at The Patio Marketplace at Intersect, with the focus on house-made ingredients that can be ordered as a sandwich, wrap or salad. Emphasis will be on house-made proteins, including sausage, SoCal pastrami, grilled chicken thigh, braised pork shoulder, bacon spice-cured salmon and ceviche. The menu will also include American classics such as an Angus beef burger, tuna melt, and grilled cheese, complemented with a savory sides and a selection of appetizers.

The beverage program will also focus on craft products, including signature cocktails, local craft beer and wine, fresh-pressed juices, all-natural organic cane sugar sodas, and small-batch, single-origin coffee from sister concept, award-winning Swell Coffee Company.

Chef Thanky will also oversee all production of grab-n-go prepared foods. Options will include flavorful salads, house-made soups, sauces, marinades, dressings, and desserts. For more information, please visit
